Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, announced on Friday, October 24, 2026, that Fix Dessert, the company behind the globally viral "Dubai Chocolate" bar, has won the Dubai-it award in the business project category. The award recognises Dubai-based ventures that have grown from a small idea into global success stories.

Fix Dessert was founded by Sarah Hamouda and Yezen Alani as a home-based business in Dubai. Its signature product, a pistachio-and-kunafa-filled chocolate bar, went viral on social media and effectively turned "Dubai Chocolate" into an international phenomenon over the past couple of years.

In his statement, Sheikh Hamdan said the company's journey captures exactly what the Dubai-it award stands for: turning a simple home-based business into a global success. According to figures released alongside the announcement, Fix Dessert's sales grew by 1,234 per cent in a single year, and its products are now sold in more than 100 airports worldwide.

In the first half of 2025, the brand sold roughly 2.5 million chocolate bars, generating Dh165 million in sales through Dubai Duty Free alone — a figure that accounted for 40 per cent of all confectionery sales at Dubai's airports during that period.

The Dubai-it award is handed out annually by Dubai authorities to celebrate creative, homegrown businesses from the emirate. Fix Dessert's win highlights, once again, how a simple home kitchen product, backed by Dubai's entrepreneurial ecosystem, can scale into a full-fledged global export brand within a remarkably short span of time.
