The 28th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) opened on Tuesday at the Dubai World Trade Centre and runs through Thursday, October 22. The event is organised by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.

This year's edition has drawn more than 3,000 participating companies from 60 countries, alongside 13 international pavilions, 60 sponsors and 23 partners and supporting organisations. The exhibition spans conventional and renewable energy, water management, environmental sustainability, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, decarbonisation, green mobility, green hydrogen, and smart and sustainable cities.

A dedicated feature this year is the Dubai Charge Point Operators Forum 2026, themed "Connect. Align. Accelerate," alongside a Green Mobility Zone and a Health and Safety Hub. A delegation zone has also been set up to support cooperation between local and international entities attending the show.

Over the three-day run, organisers have scheduled 119 seminars and panel discussions bringing together specialists from the energy and environment sectors. Visitors can also take guided tours of DEWA's Sustainability and Innovation Centre at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. Organisers expect the event to produce several memorandums of understanding and partnership agreements among participating companies and institutions.

Having grown over nearly three decades, WETEX has become one of the region's largest specialised platforms for water, energy and sustainable technology, drawing major local and international companies to Dubai each year.
