First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), the UAE's largest lender, reported a 3 per cent rise in net profit to Dh16.46 billion for the first nine months of 2026, driven by stronger lending and improved margins across its core businesses.
Operating income climbed 7 per cent year-on-year to Dh29.71 billion, while profit before tax increased 5 per cent to Dh20.22 billion. Total assets grew 7 per cent to Dh1.47 trillion, reflecting continued balance-sheet expansion.
Loans and advances rose 10 per cent to Dh679 billion, and customer deposits increased 5 per cent to Dh885 billion, pointing to healthy demand on both sides of the bank's balance sheet. Net interest income was up 11 per cent at Dh16.98 billion, while non-interest income grew 3 per cent to Dh12.73 billion.
The bank's return on tangible equity stood at 18.6 per cent, with a net interest margin of 1.93 per cent. Asset quality also improved, with the non-performing loan ratio falling to 2.1 per cent from 2.6 per cent a year earlier.
The results come as the UAE banking sector continues to benefit from robust non-oil economic growth and rising trade and investment flows. FAB, formed from the merger of National Bank of Abu Dhabi and First Gulf Bank, remains one of the largest financial institutions in the Middle East with significant international operations across more than 15 countries.
