Dr Abdulrahman Abdulmannan Al Awar, UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, inaugurated the sixth edition of Najah Dubai at Za'abeel Hall 5 in Dubai World Trade Centre. More than 100 universities from 20 countries are taking part this year, with the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research serving as strategic partner.
The programme includes more than 30 expert-led sessions aimed at helping students and their families navigate choices across fields such as artificial intelligence, engineering, health sciences, business and communications technology. Dima Al Sadi, portfolio manager for Najah Expo, said that while having more choice is a good thing for students, it also means they now have more to work through before reaching a final decision.
Figures shared at the event show that 218,241 students were enrolled across UAE universities in the previous academic year, of whom 64,859 were new entrants. The country currently has 103 higher-education institutions offering close to 2,500 academic programmes between them.
Najah Dubai is part of a wider series of education fairs held across the Emirates, following the Najah Abu Dhabi edition and ahead of the first-ever Najah Al Ain, due to take place shortly. The fairs are designed to connect UAE students with local and international study options and help them weigh programmes against their career plans.
