From 5 to 8 November 2026, Abu Dhabi's Cultural Foundation is hosting The RAGE 90s, a free pop-up event that recreates the look and feel of everyday life in the 1990s. The programme runs daily from 5pm to midnight across its four-day run.

Inside the venue, organisers have rebuilt a nostalgic shopping-street atmosphere, bringing together around 20 retail brands and 20 food and beverage concepts. Centrepieces of the experience include replica gold-and-white taxis from the era, a recreation of the historic El Dorado Cinema, and a lineup of vintage arcade games that defined 1990s entertainment.

El Dorado Cinema, which first opened in November 1970 and closed its doors in 2017, holds particular significance for older generations of Abu Dhabi residents, making it a natural centrepiece for this throwback experience. The Cultural Foundation itself has been one of the emirate's leading arts and culture hubs since it opened in 1981.

Organisers describe the pop-up as part of a wider effort to revive memories of Abu Dhabi's identity before the city's major contemporary development boom, with the experience aimed primarily at families and residents old enough to remember the decade firsthand. Given the free admission and the event's short, six-day window, turnout in the capital is expected to be strong, particularly among visitors drawn by the free food stalls and the restored cinema experience.
