Gulf News Edufair, the annual education and careers fair organised by Gulf News, is back in Dubai this week, running from Thursday, October 2 to Saturday, October 4 at the Shangri-La Hotel.

More than 25 universities, study-abroad consultants and career-services providers from the UAE and abroad are exhibiting at this edition, according to Gulf News. Organisers say the fair's May instalment drew more than 8,000 visitors, and expect similar turnout this time.

Alongside the exhibitor booths, this year's programme features a packed seminar schedule covering topics students and parents regularly ask about: how to judge a university's real value and return on investment, international degree pathways and global student mobility, how professional qualifications stack up against traditional degrees, the artificial-intelligence skills now expected across disciplines, what employers look for from graduates, and how to manage the transition from secondary school to higher education.

The fair is aimed primarily at high-school students, prospective university applicants and parents weighing options for their children's academic and career paths. Visitors can register for free entry through the event's official online portal.

With international universities competing harder than ever for UAE-based students, and families increasingly asking pointed questions about tuition costs versus career outcomes, organisers describe Edufair as a chance to compare options side by side in a single venue rather than trawling dozens of separate university open days.
