Dubai has launched a month-long programme called "National Month," running from November 3 to December 2, to coincide with the 55th anniversary of Eid Al Etihad, the UAE's Union Day. The initiative is organised by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai Government Media Office, in partnership with government, semi-government and private sector entities.

The launch ceremony was led by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai. Over the coming weeks, residents and visitors can expect a series of events including UAE Flag Day festivities, Eid Al Etihad celebrations, a "Flag Garden" exhibition and a UAE Parade across the city.

A standout feature of the programme is a short-film competition titled "Stories of Our Determination," which invites local filmmakers to capture narratives of the UAE's progress and national identity. Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, said the goal was to deliver a diverse and coordinated calendar of events and activities that honour the UAE's heritage, unity and achievements.

Dubai has held similar national-themed programmes in previous years, typically aimed at reinforcing a shared sense of identity among residents and encouraging younger generations to engage with the UAE's history. This year's edition appears to involve a wider circle of partner organisations and a broader schedule of public activities than past editions. More details on specific dates and venues for individual events are expected to be released in the coming weeks, with several activities planned to be free and open to families across Dubai.
