Dubai Municipality's Public Facilities Agency has announced the completion of more than 107 urban development projects in 2026, representing a combined investment of Dh1.6 billion. The projects span improvements to Al Mamzar beaches, neighbourhood parks, schools and community facilities across the emirate. 36 percent of the investment went toward beach development and 22 percent toward landscaping and urban beautification. Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency, said the agency measures its success "not only by what we build, but also by how it improves people's everyday lives."

Alongside refurbishing and maintaining public amenities, the agency has created more than 100 new investment opportunities for businesses — particularly small and medium enterprises — within these spaces, aiming to combine commercial activity with recreational use.

The projects fall under Dubai's Quality of Life Strategy 2033, the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. Officials describe a lifecycle approach to public infrastructure covering everything from initial planning to long-term maintenance. The announcement comes as Dubai continues to see rapid population growth, with city planners citing public space upgrades as a core pillar of maintaining liveability amid rising demand for housing and infrastructure.
