The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) has distributed Dh150 million, roughly $40.8 million, among eleven UAE-based charitable organisations to boost humanitarian work at home and abroad. Part of the funding is earmarked for healthcare delivery and assistance to civilians affected by the conflict in Gaza.

The recipient organisations include the Al Jalila Foundation, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Establishment, Emirates Health Services, the UAE Food Bank, Beit Al Khair Society, Dar Al Ber Society, the Fujairah Charity Association, Noor Dubai and Digital School, among others. Each body focuses on a different strand of relief work, from medical care and food support to education, and the fresh funding is expected to let them widen the scope of their programmes.

Officials describe the pledge as part of Dubai's broader role as a regional hub for humanitarian giving, noting that a sizeable share of the emirate's public and charitable budget is channelled every year towards vulnerable communities, both domestically and internationally. The emirate has made similar contributions in past years to countries facing humanitarian crises, reinforcing its standing in coordinated regional relief efforts.

MBRGI, which oversees dozens of charitable and development foundations across the UAE, acts as a coordinating body between government entities and non-governmental organisations to ensure aid reaches those in need more effectively. Officials say monitoring of how the funds are spent will continue so that full transparency is maintained in the distribution of resources across the eleven beneficiary organisations.

The announcement comes amid a wider push by UAE philanthropic bodies to scale up support for health and relief programmes this year, with MBRGI positioning the latest disbursement as a continuation of its long-standing commitment to humanitarian causes rather than a one-off gesture tied to any single event.
