Dubai has added two more entries to the Guinness World Records book, unveiling a pair of gold earrings that now stand as both the heaviest and the largest gold earrings ever made. Crafted from 22-carat gold, the pair weighs a combined 16.514 kilograms, more than five times the previous world record. Each earring measures 1.215 metres in length with a diameter of 0.682 metres, following the design of the traditional South Asian jhumka, a bell-shaped earring style popular across the subcontinent. the earrings took several months and more than 5,840 hours of work by 55 skilled artisans to complete. The unveiling was led by Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE's Minister of Economy and Tourism, with John Paul Alukkas, CEO of Joyalukkas Jewellery, and Dr Joy Alukkas, Chairman of the Joyalukkas Group, also attending.

The record-breaking showcase is the latest in a series of attention-grabbing pieces unveiled by jewellers in Dubai's Gold District, a part of the city long associated with large-scale gold craftsmanship and major industry events. The earrings' unveiling drew renewed international media attention to the district, reinforcing Dubai's reputation as a global hub for gold and jewellery.
