Dubai is set to prepare more than 10 million meals for the people of Gaza in a large-scale humanitarian event on Saturday, September 26, honouring the late Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Named the "Ahmed bin Rashid Humanitarian Bridge," the event will be held at Dubai World Trade Centre. It is organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) in cooperation with Operation Gallant Knight 3, an established relief effort focused on delivering food aid to families in Gaza.
Hundreds of volunteers, community members and admirers of Sheikh Ahmed are expected to take part, packing food aid destined for families and children most in need across Gaza.
Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs, said thousands of people who loved Sheikh Ahmed are repaying his kindness through this major humanitarian effort, framing the initiative as a tribute to his legacy of generosity.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who passed away earlier this week, was widely known for his charitable work throughout his life. The scale of Saturday's event underscores Dubai's continued role as a hub for organising large humanitarian responses to crises in the region.
The initiative adds to a long list of Dubai-led relief campaigns for Gaza since the war began, drawing on the emirate's logistics capacity and broad base of resident volunteers to mobilise aid quickly.
