Ticket sales for Etihad Rail's new Dubai-Abu Dhabi passenger service reopened this week, just days before the line's official launch on September 30. Bookings had briefly opened on September 22 before being paused, and are now available again through Etihad Rail's official website and mobile app.
Trains depart from Al Yalayis Station in Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai, and arrive at Mohamed Bin Zayed City station in Abu Dhabi after a journey of around 57 minutes. For the initial launch schedule, departures from Dubai are set for 6:14am, 7:14am, 1:14pm, 5:14pm and 6:14pm.
Fares for the Dubai-Abu Dhabi route start at Dh39 for Comfort Class and Dh109 for Premium Class. Comfort Class passengers get complimentary Wi-Fi, a power socket at every seat and a food-and-beverage trolley service, while Premium Class offers wider, more reclined seating with extra legroom, complimentary refreshments and a quieter cabin.
Etihad Rail has also opened a parallel Dubai-Fujairah route, with a journey time of about 70 minutes. Fares on that line start at Dh29 for Comfort Class and Dh89 for Premium Class.
The new passenger line forms part of the UAE's national rail network connecting Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Fujairah, and is expected to ease daily commuting between the two largest emirates. Travellers can book seats in advance through the Etihad Rail app or website ahead of the September 30 start date.
