Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), said land values around future Dubai Metro stations could increase by 15 to 30 percent. He noted that several studies must be completed before RTA decides where to build a new station, and that studies related to future lines and stations are currently underway.

Al Tayer's comments came during a press conference announcing the inaugural RailX Dubai Conference and Exhibition, as RTA moves ahead with two major Metro projects, the Blue Line and the Gold Line, with a combined estimated cost of approximately Dh55 billion. a rise in land value also tends to push up property prices around Metro stations, though the impact varies by location and property type. Together, the Blue and Gold Lines will expand Dubai's Metro network by 80 percent, increasing its total length from 90km today to 162km by 2032.

The 30km Blue Line is scheduled for completion in 2029, while the 42km Gold Line is expected to be completed by 2032. Al Tayer said RTA is currently implementing the Blue Line project, while the tender for the Gold Line is scheduled to be issued by the end of this year. He added that the projects are being delivered to the highest international standards, according to fixed plans and timelines, overseen by Emirati engineers and experts working alongside specialists from around the world with combined experience exceeding 2,500 years.
