Dubai-based Polish golfer Adrian Meronk has won the Alfred Dunhill Championship, claiming his fifth DP World Tour title after a drought of 1,078 days without a win.
Meronk closed with a final round of 66 to secure victory by two strokes. Visibly emotional afterwards, he said: "It is unreal, to be honest. I never usually cry, but this one feels really special."
The win carries extra significance given the uncertainty currently surrounding LIV Golf's financial future, as it secures Meronk a full European tour card for the 2027 season.
Meronk, who is based in Dubai, had previously enjoyed strong form on the DP World Tour but went more than two and a half years without lifting a trophy. His victory is another reminder of Dubai's standing as a base for leading international golfers, with many of the sport's top names choosing the emirate to train and live.
