Dubai will host the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix, presented by DP World, on November 21-22, 2026, in what is shaping up to be a decisive penultimate round of the SailGP season. Thirteen national teams will race in the city's waters, with the last remaining qualifying spot for the season's grand final still up for grabs.

The winner of the Dubai leg will take home US$400,000 out of an overall US$800,000 prize purse for the event. But the bigger prize looms just beyond it: a season-ending grand final worth US$2 million to the eventual champion. Two crews, the BONDS Flying Roos and Los Gallos, have already secured their place in that finale, leaving the rest of the fleet to fight it out in Dubai for the final ticket.

SailGP's F50 catamarans, capable of foiling at speeds approaching 100 km/h, have become a fixture of Dubai's sporting calendar in recent seasons, and organisers say turnout for the event has grown year on year. The race format, which pits identical high-speed boats against each other in short, television-friendly sprints, has helped the league build a following among fans who might not otherwise watch sailing.

For Dubai, hosting a near-final stage of a global sailing series adds to a packed roster of marquee sporting events the emirate has attracted in recent years, reinforcing its push to position itself as a hub for elite international competition across multiple disciplines, from motorsport to cricket to sailing.
