World number two Rory McIlroy has confirmed he will compete in the DP World Tour Championship, set to take place from November 12 to 15, 2026, at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai. Patrick Reed is among the other players confirmed for the event.
McIlroy, a three-time winner of the tournament (2012, 2015 and 2024), is chasing an eighth Harry Vardon Trophy that would see him match Colin Montgomerie's record. Speaking about the milestone, McIlroy said: "Getting to eight and drawing level with Monty would mean a lot. He was an amazing player to watch when I was growing up, and the Race to Dubai is something I've always taken a lot of pride in."
The Northern Irish golfer, who recently defended his Masters title at Augusta National, is expected to be one of the headline draws at the DP World Tour's season-ending event. The DP World Tour Championship serves as the decisive finale that crowns the winner of the Race to Dubai, bringing together the tour's top-ranked players each year at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
With stars such as McIlroy and Reed confirmed, this year's edition is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched in recent seasons. Dubai has become a fixture on the professional golf calendar in recent years, and hosting this event once again reinforces the UAE's standing as a major destination for international sporting events.
