Dubai has introduced a new digital platform designed to help parents guide their children toward safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence. The initiative, called GenDubAI, was developed by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence in partnership with the Community Development Authority and the Dubai Future Foundation.

The platform targets families with children between the ages of eight and fifteen and is available in both Arabic and English. According to its creators, the content was built around Emirati values and is meant to nurture children's creativity while protecting their privacy online. A key goal is strengthening the bond between parents and children as digital literacy becomes part of everyday family life.

Part of the platform walks parents through the basics of how artificial intelligence systems work, so they can have informed conversations at home. Another section uses interactive exercises to help children think critically about the answers and content AI tools generate, rather than accepting them without question.

Speaking at the launch, Khalfan Belhoul, chief executive of the Dubai Future Foundation, said that teaching children to use AI safely and responsibly is one of the greatest gifts parents can give them today. Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, director general of the Community Development Authority, added that the initiative reflects Dubai's commitment to preparing future generations for a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.

The launch comes as AI tools have become part of daily routines for many young people across the UAE, prompting growing concern among parents about inappropriate content and over-reliance on these technologies. Officials hope GenDubAI will become a trusted reference point for families and reinforce Dubai's ambition to lead in responsible AI education.
