Dubai's Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, has launched the "Create AI Agents Championship," a global competition with prizes totalling more than Dh2.5 million. Registration for the event opened today and is open to participants from anywhere in the world.
The championship is divided into four categories: Best Societal AI Agent, focused on community impact, education and sustainability; Best Personal AI Agent, aimed at tools for daily life, productivity, health and wellness; Best Business AI Agent, for solutions that improve organisational workflows, services and customer experience; and Best Youth AI Agent, reserved for participants under the age of 21, with team leaders also required to be under 21.
Each of the four category winners will receive Dh550,000, and one of them will go on to be named "AI Agent of the Year," earning an additional Dh1 million. The competition is open to specialists and non-specialists alike, with no minimum age requirement for entry overall. Individuals and teams can submit ideas, prototypes or early-stage products, and existing companies are welcome to present new AI assistant solutions — though fully launched, commercially marketed products are not eligible.
The deadline to enter is December, and organisers plan to run three introductory workshops to help participants prepare their submissions. From November, a "Digital Academy" will also open, offering training courses and mentoring to support entrants in developing their projects further. the goal of the initiative is to push participants to identify priority problems, design AI-assisted systems to address them, test their real-world impact, and explore how commercially viable such solutions could become.
