Etihad Rail has partnered with the journey-planning app Citymapper, alongside mobility firms Via and United Trans, to let passengers plan trips across rail, metro, bus and on-demand transport in a single app.

Under the partnership, travellers can view and compare combined routes that mix Etihad Rail services with metro lines, buses and other urban mobility options. Rail ticket bookings still go through Etihad Rail's own channels, while Citymapper acts as the connector across the wider transport network.

The service covers Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Dhaid and Fujairah, allowing passengers to combine train, metro, bus and on-demand services within a single journey.

Adhraa Al Mansoori, Executive Director of Commercial and Support for Mobility at Etihad Rail, said giving customers more choice and confidence is key to shaping the passenger rail experience. Lionel Joseph, Head of Operations at United Trans, said integrated mobility depends on collaboration between transport providers and technology partners. Chris Snyder, COO of Via, added that passengers now expect transport networks to function as a single, seamless experience.

The partnership forms part of the UAE's broader push to build one of the region's most advanced multimodal transport networks, and is expected to make cross-city travel simpler for both residents and tourists.
