The View, the observation deck atop Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, has launched a new "glass ledges" experience to mark its fifth anniversary. The addition features eight glass ledges, each extending 1.5 metres beyond the main viewing deck, giving visitors the sensation of stepping out over open air.

Four of the ledges look out over Palm Jumeirah's fronds and crescent, while the other four face Dubai's skyline, offering two distinct perspectives of the city from height. The launch is part of a broader push by The View to keep refreshing the experience it offers at one of Dubai's most popular vantage points.

Since opening in 2021, The View has welcomed millions of visitors from 130 countries, recorded 1,825 sunrises and sunsets from its deck, and hosted 40 marriage proposals.

In a statement, the attraction's management said the new glass ledges "bring another dimension to those views and another memorable moment to share," adding that for guests ready to take the step, "the city is waiting beneath their feet."

The ledges were built with reinforced glass panels engineered to safely support visitor weight at height, a standard feature of sky-walk attractions elsewhere, although the operator has not released specific load or thickness figures for this installation.

The new feature became available to the public in mid-October 2026, timed to coincide with Dubai's peak tourism season, when the attraction typically sees a sharp rise in visitor numbers from around the world.
