Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in coordination with Dubai Police, has announced revised speed limits on five major roads across the city, effective November 1, 2026. The changes follow a comprehensive engineering and technical study of traffic patterns and safety on each route. speed limits will rise on three roads. On Al Asayel Street, between Oud Metha and Al Meydan, the limit increases from 60 to 80 km/h. Al Mustaqbal Street, between Sheikh Rashid Road and Al Meydan, will see its limit raised from 60 to 70 km/h, and Latifa Bint Hamdan Street, between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road, will also move from 60 to 70 km/h.

Two other roads will see limits reduced. Al Rebat Street, between Marrakech Street and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, drops from 100 to 90 km/h, while Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street, between 2nd December Street and Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street, falls from 80 to 70 km/h.

Officials said the adjustments are part of RTA's ongoing programme to align posted limits with real traffic conditions, congestion levels and safety needs on each corridor. Motorists using these roads are advised to watch for new signage once the changes take effect, as speed cameras will be recalibrated to the updated limits.

The move is the latest in a series of periodic reviews RTA carries out across Dubai's road network, aimed at reducing accidents and improving traffic flow on busy routes throughout the emirate.
