Starting Sunday, November 1, speed limits on several key Dubai streets will change. Al Asayel Street rises from 60 to 80km/h, while Al Mustaqbal Street and Latifa Bint Hamdan Street increase from 60 to 70km/h. In the opposite direction, Al Rebat Street drops from 100 to 90km/h, and Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Street falls from 80 to 70km/h.

The change coincides with Dubai Ride on Sunday, which will close sections of Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai to vehicles to make way for cyclists. The route opens at 6:15am and closes at 8am. Salik toll rates will apply dynamically that day: Dh6 during peak hours (6-10am and 4-8pm), Dh4 during low-peak hours (10am-4pm and 8pm-1am), and free during off-peak hours (1-6am) — all rates subject to 5 per cent VAT.

Dubai Metro will also start earlier than usual on Sunday, running from 3am to help participants reach the event, with a round-trip fare set at Dh30 for the day. Parking will be available at three main facilities — Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai Mall and Zabeel — alongside Parkin and Parkonic options.

Beyond Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E611) between Dubai and Sharjah will see nightly overnight closures from 1am to 5am, running from October 30 to November 15. In Abu Dhabi, several lanes — including on Sheikh Zayed Bridge and Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street — will be temporarily closed until November 2. Drivers are advised to check the updated restrictions in advance and allow extra time for their journeys.
