The Irish Village in Al Garhoud, beside Dubai Tennis Stadium, is one of the city's oldest and best-loved hangouts, set up by Dubai Duty Free. It was built with materials and craftsmen brought over from Ireland, recreating an Irish village with timber ceilings, vintage tiling and flower-filled terraces. Its big draw is the garden: old shady trees and a small lake where the Village's famous ducks paddle about. In the middle of the terrace stands a bronze statue of three Irish street musicians, a fixture since 2007. There is live music in the evenings and big screens for sport, dogs are welcome outdoors, and on most evenings the garden fills with families and groups of friends. It is open Sunday to Thursday from 11 AM to 1 AM, and Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 2 AM. The nearest metro is GGICO on the Red Line. The venue is a restaurant and pub that serves alcohol. Check the official website or Instagram for table bookings and the live music line-up.
