Members of Dubai's sports community joined the "Ahmed bin Rashid Humanitarian Bridge" initiative on Saturday, an effort organised by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) in cooperation with Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 to prepare more than 10 million meals for people in Gaza. Volunteers and figures from Dubai's sporting world gathered at the Dubai World Trade Centre to take part in the meal-preparation effort.

The initiative is named after the late Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, honouring his legacy in sport, charity and community service. Sheikh Ahmed, who passed away recently, was known for establishing Al Wasl Club, Jebel Ali Racecourse and the Dubai International Marine Club, and maintained a lifelong commitment to philanthropic causes across the UAE.

The participation of Dubai's sports community is being framed as a reflection of the close link between sport and social responsibility in the UAE, a value Sheikh Ahmed championed throughout his life. Organisers say the collective effort is intended both to ease humanitarian suffering in Gaza and to keep alive Sheikh Ahmed's long-standing legacy within the Emirati community. meal preparation and distribution will continue over the coming days, and further community and sporting groups have been invited to take part in the initiative.
