According to www.khaleejtimes.com, a center in Dubai is transforming seized counterfeit clothes into sportswear for the needy in an interesting and humanitarian initiative. This project is designed to help underprivileged children and reduce textile waste. The textile recycling factory Circulife, in collaboration with Dubai Customs, will donate 100,000 sweatshirts and 100,000 jeans made from 100% recycled materials to these children.
Rajesh Garg, CFO of the Landmark Group, explains: "In this center, clothes are sorted by brand, color, material, and composition." This process includes a complex two-stage sorting system where buttons and zippers are carefully removed. Then, textiles are processed through a fiber recovery machine and turned into recycled fibers. These fibers are ultimately used to produce new clothing.
This project not only helps reduce textile waste but also brings hope and new clothing to the needy. This initiative clearly demonstrates Dubai's efforts to create a more sustainable community and support individuals in difficult circumstances. With this action, Dubai is recognized as a model in social responsibility and environmental protection.
