Cafe Ceylon is a small, friendly restaurant in Al Nahda 1 serving authentic Sri Lankan home-style cooking alongside a few Indian and Chinese favourites. The name comes from Ceylon, the old name of Sri Lanka, and the menu stays close to the island's spice-rich kitchen: rice and curry, kottu, string hoppers and plenty of seafood. Kottu is the star here — chopped roti tossed on a hot griddle with vegetables, egg, chicken, beef or seafood, with cheese and 'dolphin' versions too. Rice and curry plates come with chicken, fish, beef or dhal curries; hoppers and string hoppers are served with coconut sambol; kiribath appears at weekends, and fiery devilled chicken, fish and prawns round out the hot dishes. For groups there are big 'sawan' platters combining kottu, seafood and grills. The kitchen opens early for a Sri Lankan breakfast, and the snack counter offers samosas, cutlets, fish rolls and wade, with tea, fresh juices and malted drinks on the side — all at everyday prices. Orders are taken on WhatsApp and through Talabat, Noon, Keeta and Deliveroo.
